BULUWAYO-BASED Rebel Film Productions, producers of a horror movie titled Moonlight Cross, say the 75-minutes film is ready for its premiere on Saturday at the Zimbabwe Academy of Music.

Moonlight Cross is a fusion of fantasy, horror and romance.
The 75-minute horror piece features Nigel, Pride Mpofu, Xanier Dlomo, Faith Mabutho and Ryan Young — promising screen actor and television personality — Nyasha “Diva” Mtamangira whose strong background in the film industry is attractive.
The film explores the story of a dead lad, Cross, who is brought to life as a goblin slave.
Speaking to the Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday, Percy Soko, one of Rebel Film Productions producers said the movie premiere will start at 5:30pm and end at 7:30pm.
“We will be having a red carpet event and people should dress elegantly. People will have time to watch our finished product that we have been working on screen. After the movie, we would then ask and allow people to comment and rate Moonlight Cross so that we can improve in our next project,” he said.
He added that it was time to prove and show people that Bulawayo can also produce up-to-standard quality products.

“We want to show the outside world that we can make it and this is through working together,” he said.
Soko said Moonlight Cross will be taken to cinemas in Bulawayo and other launches would be held in the capital Harare and other small towns.
He said although they met some challenges like financial problems, they managed to pull through.
“I have learnt a lot through the movie shooting. One should have patience when shooting a film so as to avoid feeding people with half-baked products. I also learnt that one has to understand the background of actors – some will be new and finding it difficult reading the script.
“One should have focus and confidence when shooting a film,” he added.
He thanked the National Aids Council and the Zimbabwe Republic Police for giving them the approval and clearance when they shot their film.
