A MAN from Village 5 in Heany Junction, Fort Rixon, allegedly assaulted his mother’s lover with an iron bar accusing him of forcefully entering her bedroom at night last December 13.

This was heard when Desmond Muhoma (23) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Takundwa Witness Mtetwa during a court circuit in Mbembesi last week. Muhoma was remanded out of custody to May 21 for trial.
The court heard that on December 9 2013 at around 11pm, Muhoma was at home in Village Five Heany Junction when his mother’s lover Ephanati Ncube visited her at night.
Ncube, who works for the National Railways of Zimbabwe, allegedly forced his way into her bedroom hut..
This did not go down well with Muhoma who armed himself with an iron bar and attacked Ncube striking him twice on the left hand and the back.
Ncube sustained a fracture in the left hand and bruises on the right side of his back and was taken to hospital where his hand was cast in a plaster.
A report was made to the police and Muhoma was arrested.
