Goals from Quadr Amini, Simon Shoko, Stephen Sibanda, and Mitchelle Katsvairo ensured that the Lloyd Mutasa-coached side recorded their biggest win so far. It is a result, however, that did not reflect the true discharge of the duel, but was aided by the horrible goalkeeping of Triangle stopper Edmund Chimhini.

The game was only the second in nine attempts that the platinum miners managed to keep a clean sheet after the nil-all draw against ZPC Kariba in Harare three weeks ago. After the match Mutasa duly praised his defence for a job well done.

“We were resolute in defence and it’s a marked improvement on our part. It’s a good win and a morale booster,” Mutasa said.

The losing coach biggie Zuze bemoaned chances they failed to convert and the lapses in concentration from his defence.

“It was a fairly contested match. They utilised their chances and we failed to utelise ours. The result is disappointing but not the performance,” he said.

Platinum raced into the lead with first half goals from wingbacks Amini and Shoko before Chimhini gifted Sibanda and Katsvairo with second half goals.
