Munyeza, who was a guest speaker at the Apostolic Faith Mission fund-raising business dinner on Saturday night at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, told attendees that the Bulawayo business community needed to “dream the impossible”.

“Dare to dream the impossible,” Munyeza said. “Matabeleland is endowed with resources and Bulawayo needs to dream the impossible. I did not come to Bulawayo to excite anyone, but to evoke people to action.” He said the problem with most Zimbabweans was that they celebrated luxury at the expense of future generations.

“We drive expensive cars in potholes and burst sewer systems at the expense of future generations,” Muyenza said. “Bulawayo has to be an exporting hub.” He urged the local business community “to wake up” and raise the banner to ensure the continued revival of the city. Some of the companies in attendance were, CBZ, Holiday Inn, Bulawayo Rainbow, Croco Motors, Datlabs and Zimplats.

Bulawayo used to be the industrial hub of Zimbabwe, but is presently being suffocated by unrelenting company closures and job losses.

Some churches have taken advantage of the situation as they use company empty buildings for church services.
