Philip Ngani, who resides at Murekeni village, Chief Ngorima, Chimanimani, was asked by magistrate Sithembinkosi Ncube if he had money on his person, at the bank or at home, to which he replied he had $13 000 in his yard.

“I have $13 000 dollars which I keep at my home, but the money is not inside (house). It’s somewhere in the yard,” Ngani said to a roar of laughter from the court gallery.

Ncube postponed sentencing Ngani to next Monday after the State asked for more time to ascertain whether the accused had previous convictions.
