Josphat Nhari was initially charged with attempted murder for stabbing his older brother Menzisi Nhari (32), but the court altered it to domestic violence.

The younger Nhari sibling was remanded in custody to October 14.

According to the State’s outline, on the night of August 16, the Nhari brothers got home drunk after a beer drink at a local bar.

It was alleged that Menzisi pushed Josphat to the ground as a way of avenging an earlier assault.

Josphat got up and dashed to the kitchen from where he returned wielding a kitchen knife. He allegedly stabbed Menzisi twice in the back of the head leaving him bleeding from the deep stab wounds.

Menzisi sought medical assistance before reporting the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of his younger brother.
