The match had initially been set for last weekend, but was cancelled due to poor lighting.

KAOS consists of veteran players, but their experience did not help much as they lost to Highlanders.

Ernie Noble and Lionel Wolfenden are some of the veteran players in the KAOS team while Tawanda Mudzudza, Stewart Woods and Michael Zvoushe turn out for Highlanders.

In the women’s category, Flame Lily match against Stars was cancelled.

The Stars team from Nkulumane High School failed to turn up for the game with indications that the school is unable to foot the costs for the team’s participation in the league.

League secretary-general Howard Phangwana yesterday said they were yet to ascertain the status of Stars.

“I was informed that Stars will not be able to fulfil their league match on Saturday morning,” he said. “It seems like the school (Nkulumane) has indicated that they are unable to finance the team in terms of affiliation, transport and payment of referees. We are still to ascertain when they will be able to play.”

In other matches that were played on Saturday, Nust beat Angels 30-8 while Hawks beat Flame Lillies 32-14.

Lupane failed to raise a team leading to the cancellation of the fixture against Lakers B.

Lakers B could not play on Saturday as Highlanders women failed to raise a team.

More games could be played next week as Court B is now ready for use.
