Tsholotsho, the second team from Matabeleland North after Hwange to make it to the country’s top league, are still adamant they will not play in Bulawayo, saying they would rather play in Hwange.

Head coach Lizwe Sweswe, who is undergoing a Caf A Licence course, yesterday confirmed that the break was over and it was back to business beginning today in Tsholotsho.

“I am in town (Bulawayo) today picking up a few boys from some Division One clubs,” he said.

“The boys are little-known just like their coach, but we will be unveiling them when the time comes. We did not offload anyone from our squad. I cannot say we are holding trials because it is my squad from last year and a few other boys that I have identified.”

Sweswe said Tsholotsho FC would not be in the PSL to make up numbers, but would be there to compete and make sure they stayed.

“As a club and as the coach, we want people in Matabeleland North to enjoy being in the PSL,” he said.

“We want to compete and remain in the league not just to get promoted. The next thing we are relegated.”

Some of the players at Tsholotsho FC include goalkeeper Chang Marian targeted by Harare City and Buffaloes and striker Edmore Chirambadare who is on Chicken Inn’s radar. The other two goalkeepers are Nickel Marichi and Farai Sibanda.

Also at the club is Mlamuli Phakathi who has played in the Botswana be Mobile PSL for BMC and now-defunct local side Zimbabwe Saints.

Other players at Tsholotsho FC are Maclive Phiri, Thandolwenkosi Ncube, Ocean Ncube, Nickson Gama, Sijabuliso Simango and Tinashe Chabwana.
