A VICTORIA Falls woman yesterday admitted that she assaulted her husband with an empty bottle after he refused to eat dinner which she had prepared for him.

Sithabile Mathe (30) of Mkhosana, pleaded guilty to charges of physically abusing Sabelo Nkomo (30), when she appeared before magistrate Sharon Rosemani.
Nkomo allegedly refused to eat the dinner because he suspected that his wife had poisoned it.
Mathe was sentenced to an $80 fine or eight weeks prison.
“He suspected that I wanted to poison him, which was not true at all,” said Mathe.
It was the State’s case that on August 28 last year at 7:30pm, Nkomo refused to eat sadza and beef which was prepared by Mathe. He suspected that the food had poison.
Nkomo told Mathe to eat first with their children, but Mathe refused.

Mathe then threw the food away, ordered Nkomo to pack his clothes and move out of their house.
Nkomo refused to leave the house, which angered Mathe who then took an empty beer bottle and hit Nkomo on the head and left leg.
