
GOVERNMENT has unveiled grants for the agribusiness sector to boost its growth, the Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development ministry has said.
The grants are provided with support from the Global Farmers Association (GFA), which has partnered the ministry.
GFA is an agricultural technology organisation that provides services to help farmers to make more informed decisions and improve profitability.
In a statement, the ministry said the project targeted agribusinesses and co-operatives as well as companies involved in various agricultural activities.
“This initiative aims to foster impactful growth and innovation within the agricultural sector,” the statement read.
“This is a significant opportunity for businesses and individuals involved in various aspects of agriculture, including farming, input supply, exporting, agro-processing, supplying and trading.”
The statement said priority would be given to projects that promoted sustainable agriculture, employment creation, food security, innovation and export growth.
“We are seeking applications from those who can demonstrate the potential to make a significant positive impact on Zimbabwe’s agricultural landscape,” the statement read.

“Projects that promote development in areas such as sustainable agriculture, employment creation, innovation, food security and export growth are particularly encouraged.”
The deadline for submitting applications is May 5, 2025. Successful applicants identified by the department will be referred to GFA for the disbursement of funds.
The ministry said investment in agriculture was critical for the future of the country.
“We believe that investing in agriculture is investing in the future of our country, Zimbabwe.”
