A MAN from Gokwe, under Chief Simuchembo in the Midlands province, was stabbed to death by a colleague following a dispute over missing money at a local bar.

The incident occurred at Madhamu Business Centre in Gokwe North.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Tinos Machaya.

“Circumstances are that Jetro Siyamusandana (21) and Tinos Machaya were both at the shopping centre drinking beer when all of a sudden, Siyamusandana accused Machaya of having stolen his wallet containing US$60,” he said.

Mahoko said a misunderstanding arose between the two, resulting in Siyamusandana stabbing Machaya all over the body with a knife.

He said Machaya failed to get treatment due to financial constraints.

Last Sunday at around 9pm, Machaya died at his homestead.

“The suspect is still at large and we are appealing to members of the public who might have information about his whereabouts to contact their nearest Police station,” Mahoko said.

“We continue to urge members of the public to desist from resorting to violence when solving disputes.”
