AS the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League progresses, giants Dynamos, Caps United and Highlanders continue to sing the blues as debutants MWOS rule the roost, signalling a new dawn in local football.

Dynamos wallow in the danger zone on position 14 with seven points, with one win, four draws and three defeats. They have  scored two goals in the eight matches played this far.

Coach Lloyd Chigowe is under fire from the club's fans and at the weekend, the Glamour Boys, who last won the league title in 2014, were held to a goalless draw by financially-troubled new boys Kwekwe United.

Last year, DeMbare ended the season in position eight with 10 wins, 16 draws and eight defeats from 34 games. Their only solace was lifting the Chibuku Super Cup and taking part in the Caf Confederation Cup.

DeMbare are away to GreenFuel at Green Fuel Arena tomorrow.

It has not been rosy for Caps United, whose fans have also called for coach Lloyd Chitembwe’s head as the Green Machine struggles for victory in the league.

Caps United have won two matches in eight games and are just beneath Dynamos on the table on position 15, also with seven points after they got their second win of the season by beating Yadah 1-0 at the weekend.

They have a tough one against FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow.

The Green Machine last won the companionship in 2016.

Although up there in seventh place, it has not been easy for Highlanders. They have won two times in eight games with five draws and one defeat, accruing 11 points.

Bosso last won the title in 2006 and host Bikita Minerals at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow after a goalless draw with TelOne at the weekend.

2015 champions Chicken Inn have also struggled in the first eight games, with one win, five draws and two defeats.

The GameCocks drew 0-0 with Manica Diamonds on Saturday and host TelOne tomorrow.

Four-time champions from 2017 to 2021-22, FC Platinum, are 10th on the log. The former champions  are away to Caps United at Rufaro tomorrow.

Newcomers MWOS are the early pacesetters in the league with 18 points and are yet to lose a match in their maiden season in the top league.

The Lloyd Mutasa-coached side played a draw with reigning champions Simba Bhora and will be at Luveve tomorrow against Chicken Inn.

Second-placed Simba Bhora are away to struggling Kwekwe United at Bata Stadium tomorrow.

Third-placed Ngezi Platinum Stars host Yadah at Baobab.
