Norman Dube (52) pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Takundwa Witness Mtetwa.

The magistrate, however, convicted and sentenced him to eight months in jail.

Two months of the sentence were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.  A further six months were suspended on condition he performed 210 hours of community service at George Silundika Secondary School.

The court heard that on June 3 at 5pm, the complainant Lorraine Ncube (33) was standing at 6th Avenue waiting to board a commuter omnibus.

She was approached by Dube who started talking to her, but she ignored him.

Dube then fondled her breasts and touched her all over the body.  She tried to push him away, but Dube would not stop.

Ncube boarded a commuter omnibus and Dube followed and sat next to her.

Dube allegedly put his hand inside her trousers and Ncube ordered the driver to stop at Mzilikazi Police Station where Dube was then arrested.
