TWO MEN from Redcliff and Mbizo 5 Kwekwe, respectively, allegedly stabbed a drinking mate to death at a beer outlet following a dispute over which music should be played at the joint.

This was heard when Felix Kawadza (28) of Mbizo 5 and Judgment Ncube (23) of Rutendo in Redcliff appeared before Gokwe resident magistrate Shepherd Mjanja facing a murder charge last week. The two were remanded in custody to January 13.
The State’s case alleges that on November 27 last year, the now deceased Peter Mutero was drinking beer with friends at Nyembezi beer garden in Gokwe North where Kawadza and Ncube were among the revellers.
The State said Mutero had a quarrel with Kawadza over the type of music being played at the bar, resulting in a fist fight.
Mutero was allegedly overpowering Kawadza and that prompted Ncube to join the fight in the corner of his friend. One of the two accused allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Mutero twice. Mutero died on the way to Gokwe Hospital.
