Prosecutor Robert Ndlala said Tinashe Tavarwisa (27) of Mapfungautsi high density suburb in Gokwe town was left with the minor in his custody sometime in September last year by her mother.

Ndlala said Tavarwisa dragged the girl to his bedroom and raped her once.

The matter, however, came to light when the mother discovered that she had difficulty walking.

The girl revealed she was raped and a report was made to the police, leading to Tavarwisa’s arrest.
