Bekithemba Masuku (47) was not asked to plead when he appeared before a Bulawayo magistrate Takundwa Witness Mtetwa sitting at a circuit court in Mbembesi and was granted $200 bail and remanded to March 5.

The court heard that on the fateful day at around 8:30pm, Masuku was driving the Pathfinder bus with 64 passengers on board.

The State alleged that the bus hit a cow and swerved into oncoming traffic lane resulting in a head-on collision with the truck.

Four passengers in Pathfinder as well as the driver of the truck and his passenger died on the spot.
