A 58-YEAR-OLD butchery owner appeared in the Gweru Magistrates’ Court on allegations of calling a resident a “black monkey” who doesn’t think.

STEPHEN CHADENGA OWN CORRESPONDENT Abdul Rasheed of Gweru East is alleged to have made the insults against Jafinos Mazhara after the latter parked his vehicle at a parking bay Rasheed usually.

Rasheed approached Mazhara demanding that he remove his car and when he delayed, he allegedly called him a black monkey who thinks with his a**.

Rasheed appeared before Gweru magistrate Florence Nago on a charge of criminal insult and will face trial on July 4. The State alleged that on March 15, Mazhara parked his vehicle outside Fine Foods Butchery.

Rasheed told him to move his vehicle as he wanted to park his truck to offload some meat.

Mazhara, however, demanded that Rasheed talk to him politely, but he allegedly shot back saying: “You black monkeys, you don’t think. You think with your a**. You are like cockroaches.”

Mazhara made a report at the Gweru Central Police Station, leading to Rasheed’s arrest. Rasheed is denying the charge.
