The body was discovered barely a week after another man’s decomposing corpse was found with missing private parts at Mucheke River close to the Masvingo central business district.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nkululeko Nduna confirmed the case and said police were still conducting investigations to establish the identity of the man and find the perpetrators.
“The man was found at a hill near Ngundu a few metres away from the Cotton Company and his private parts had been removed just like the man found in Masvingo,” said Nduna.
The man’s body was discovered by some Ngundu Rural District Council workers who were dumping garbage at the hill.
The body had not yet decomposed showing that the murder could have been committed the day before. Ngundu residents said such murders were related to ritual purposes as private parts were either used as charms to attain riches or for witchcraft.
“Ritualists use internal organs and private parts for their business and the parts are usually taken to South Africa where the muthi is made,” said an elderly Ngundu resident, Takarangana Mhako.
