Solomon Size, who has two wives and 10 children, appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Peter Madiba for assaulting Lovemore Gota (43).
Size told the court that he had bashed Gota after the two had failed to agree on which of the two Zanu PF factions allegedly led by Justice minister Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice-President Joice Mujuru, was better.
It was the State’s case that on August 23, Size was at his residency when Gota approached him to discuss party business.
An argument ensued between the two over the party’s factions resulting in Size punching and felling Gota.
Gota sustained head injuries and reported the assault to the police, resulting in the arrest of Size.
In passing sentence, Madiba condemned political violence saying it should not be tolerated.

“People who usually fight over politics are the ones who usually cause political violence and we do not allow this. Learn to live peacefully considering your age and responsibilities you have,” Madiba said.
