A DARING suspected rapist allegedly broke into a woman’s house intending to rape her, but his target managed to run away, leaving her four-year-old girl child whom the assailant then raped, leaving her bleeding profusely, a Filabusi magistrate heard last week.

Mduduzi Ncube (35) of Avoca area in Filabusi was not asked to plead to one count of unlawful entry and one count of rape when he appeared before resident magistrate Mzingaye Moyo.
The magistrate remanded him in custody to January 21 to appear before Gwanda regional magistrate.
He advised him to apply to the High Court for bail.
Prosecutor Smart Tafireyi told the court that on an unknown date this month, Ncube broke into the woman’s home in Avoca during the night, while she was asleep with her four-year-old child, with the intention to rape her.
The woman, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the minor, on sensing danger, escaped before he could abuse her, leaving her four-year-old child asleep.
It is alleged that when Ncube’s rape target had escaped, he noticed she had left the child and allegedly raped her, before leaving her bleeding profusely.
