The local authority has also pledged to allocate him 30 litres of fuel per week, buy him two suits each year, a cellphone worth $1 000 every year and pay $305 per month towards his Standard Chartered Bank loan “until it is finished”.
The resolution was, according to latest council minutes, passed on November 18 this year.
“The council will also pay $305 per month towards the CEO’s Standard Chartered Bank loan until it is finished,” part of the resolution read.
“The council will buy the CEO two suits every year and he will use a contract line for communication purposes, where council pays not more than $150 per month.”
According to council sources, this comes at a time when the local authority has been struggling to pay its workers for the past three months.
It is understood that heads of departments will be allocated 20 litres of fuel per week and will be entitled to mobile phones worth $800 every year.

Not to be left out, all 23 councillors will get new mobile handsets worth $500.
Efforts to get comment from both Mlilo and council chairperson, Nkosana Mavule Sibanda have been fruitless since last Friday.
